World Time Clocks
A clock is simply a device that measures time. Typical clocks have faces and hands. The long hand measures time in minutes while the short hand in hours. Clocks vary in forms, sizes and shapes but all perform the same task to tell time. Almost all activities depend on this device, and sometimes the inability to tell time makes us miss most of the activities we need to do. We rarely miss the time in our area of the world, since we can see some tell-tale signs like when it gets dark or if the sun goes down you know that it is already around afternoon.

But when you need something from the other side of the world, like when you need to get on a call to London while you are in Indonesia you need to check if you calculated the time of call correctly or else there would be a problem. But if you know a bit about world time clocks and time zones, you can easily determine the time in london. That’s why it is important to know about world time clocks and timezones which vary and determine any location’s time at any given point. A timezone is a region of the earth that has adopted the same standard time usually referred to as local time and most of the adjacent time zones are one hour apart and by convention are computed from the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) which was the term used by the royal observatory in greenwich, England.
Since then it has been the standard for calculating and coordinating world time clocks. It is also important to know that there are different variations of local time and this should be checked and calculated properly, there are variations like the daylight savings time (or DST) is the convention of adavancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings will have less. Typically clocks are moved forward one hour before that start of spring and adjusted back during autumn. Its first widespread use was in 1916 as a wartime measure to conserve coal.
Keep in mind though, that world time clocks often change with the season and that there are different terms being used like EST (Eastern Time) and Central time, these differences can easily be solved by referring to the GMT and calculating it to that time. So if you are camping (Campingartikel) and would like to know what time zone you are in, you need to be aware of this issue.
Due to globalization, knowing the world time clocks is more important than ever, you never know when you will get a job or business that will depend on a lot of traveling and communicating with people from the different time zones of the world.
