Maps
Cartography or map-making is the
stady and practice of writing representations of the earth on a flat
surface. While we tend to think of maps today as products of a
rationalistic, scientific world-view, maps also have a mythic quality.
Pre-modern maps, and mapping traditions outside the Western
tradition, often merge geography with non-scientific beliefs like cosmology
and astrology which shows the relationships of the creator to the universe.
Today, the most common geographical maps are roadmaps are the most common
maps today and any kind of navigational maps that include nautical and
aeronautical charts and railroad networks. But in
terms of amount of maps (but least read) the largest drawn map sheets are
made up by local survey, carriout by different parts of the government like
emergency plans, tax assessors and other local agencies.
Most maps are drawn to a scale to read entire distances and sizes
between different kidns of objects. Many but not all maps are drawn to
allowing the reader to infer the actual sizes of, and distances between,
depicted objec. Maps which use some quality other than physical area to
determine relative size are called.

One of the most famous examples of this is the london underground railway but it still does its best and fulfills its purpose by being less physically accurate but more visually accurate since all you need to know is what stop you are going down and not the distance to it. You can count the statiosn instead. This type of map is called a topological map.
In fact, most commercial navigational maps, such as road maps and town plans, sacrifice an amount of accuracy in scale to deliver a greater visual usefulness (by using captions and words) to its user.
Now cartographers usually censor the content of the space depicted by maps in order to provide useful tools for the user. Cartographers usually censor the space and area which are not important and provide useful tools like landmarks, captions and other markers to make sure that people will arrive easier in their desired location.
Beyond Cartography, Maps have already expanded its use to different fields, often as a symbolic representation of spaces and ideas. These types of maps are most often used in business and scientific studies to map complex ideas, plans or maps like brain mapping and process mapping for business.
Overall, Maps have become an important parts of our lives and have helped advance human knowledge immensely by marking areas and spaces that are either useful or not. This allows us to get to our location or find the solution to our problems faster and easier.
